Our Team.

Matt Scharf
President
Matt has been building for as long as he can remember, first learning the craft alongside his father, a master carpenter. That early foundation shaped the way he approaches every home today — with respect for the trade, attention to detail, and an insistence on doing things the right way.
With a background in engineering and decades of experience in residential and commercial construction, Matt brings both technical expertise and real-world problem-solving to every project. His career has spanned hands-on fieldwork, project management, and leadership roles, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the building process from the ground up.
Matt is directly involved in every home his company builds. He is known for his calm presence on site, clear communication, and ability to guide clients through complex decisions with confidence and transparency. His work has earned industry recognition and multiple awards.
At his core, Matt is a builder who believes a home should be well-crafted, thoughtfully planned, and built to stand the test of time — not rushed, not overcomplicated, and never cookie-cutter.

Elisabeth Scharf
Finance Manager/Design Selection
Elisabeth is the organizational backbone of Blue Heron Custom Homes, guiding clients through the financial and design decisions that turn a house into a well-planned home. An Air Force veteran with a background in finance, real estate, and construction management, she brings discipline, structure, and steady leadership to every phase of the building process.
At Blue Heron, Elisabeth works closely with clients on budgeting, selections, and overall project coordination, helping them balance aesthetics, function, and long-term value. She is known for her ability to simplify complex decisions, keep projects financially aligned, and advocate for clients throughout the build — ensuring transparency, accountability, and no unnecessary surprises.
Elisabeth’s design philosophy is rooted in timeless style and livability rather than fleeting trends. She believes a home should feel cohesive, intentional, and comfortable for the people who live there long after move-in day.
Clients value Elisabeth for her honesty, calm guidance, and attention to detail — qualities shaped by both her professional experience and military service. Her role ensures that every Blue Heron home is not only beautifully built, but thoughtfully planned from the inside out.

Raina Kor
Design Liaison

Raina supports the design and selections process at Blue Heron Custom Homes, working behind the scenes to ensure projects stay organized, cohesive, and on track. She collaborates closely with Elisabeth, clients, and vendors to help manage details, documentation, and communication throughout the build.
With formal training in design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and the New York School of Interior Design, Raina brings a strong foundation in proportion, balance, and visual cohesion. Her background as a public school teacher and administrator further sharpened her ability to think systematically, manage complex information, and communicate clearly across multiple stakeholders.
Raina’s role is focused on coordination and support — helping translate design intent into actionable details, tracking selections, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Her attention to detail and calm, organized approach help keep the design process efficient and seamless for both clients and the Blue Heron team.
